Dr. Emma Ryan-Weber, Astronomer

Dr Emma Ryan-Weber is an Astronomer, Senior Lecturer and Australian Research Council QEII Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology. She graduated from Loreto College in 1994 and then studied a BSc(Hons) in Physics and PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Melbourne.

Emma now leads the “Intergalactic Medium” research group in the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne where she has discovered the oldest and most distant carbon in the Universe, and the darkest star-forming neighbour of our own Milky Way galaxy, Leo T.
