Preserving our heritage

The College Archive is a repository of the corporate memory of the College since it opened its doors to students on this site in 1875.

The archive exists to collect and record relevant school records as laid down by the College archival policy which includes the collection and registration of historical objects pertaining to the College throughout its history incorporating both the Dawson Street and Sturt Street identities. Apart from the College, the major Loreto archive including a significant heritage collection is held at the Provincial Archives, Mary's Mount Ballarat under the custodianship of Provincial Archivist Mrs Robin Scott.

Donations relating to the College's history and heritage are always appreciated and the archivist can be contacted as below. Any enquiries or requests for visits may be directed through archivist@loreto.vic.edu.au
