We share some great news on Year 12 rower, Lana Dodd, who was successful in selection in the Victorian Schoolgirl Eight during the school holidays. Lana rowed in Canberra on Lake Burley-Griffin in the Interstate 8 regatta over the past weekend.
Lana and eight other girls from across Victoria raced against Eight boats from other States and Territories across Australia, winning their heat and progressing to the A final on Monday, which they won!!! The Boys Eight from Victoria was also successful- making it a great weekend for Victorian rowing and reflective of the talent of all Victorian school-aged athletes selected.
After an extra 5 weeks of training – Lana can now hang up the Loreto (and now Victorian!) zootie – immensely proud of her efforts. The Loreto Ballarat Rowing Club, coaches and whole school are incredibly proud of Lana and all that she has achieved! Congratulations to all the other Victorian student representatives and their coaches!
