Loreto College joined the movement to create a safe and inclusive environment for all, by celebrating IDAHOBIT Day – the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia.
31 years ago – on May 17, 1990 – the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. This day is dedicated to LGBTQIA+ people globally and raises awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.
The College raised the pride flag in solidarity, held a bake sale and encouraged staff and students to wear a touch of the rainbow to show pride and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
