We are excited to announce that Year 10 Speech and Drama student, Erin Almeida, is off to the Class Clowns National Grand Final in Melbourne on Wednesday 6 April after winning the State Final earlier this week. Hayley Every (Year 9) also competed at the Regional competition.
Class Clowns is Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national development program for teens and involves workshops with professional comedians, a mentoring program and competition rounds. Last year Erin competed in the Class Clowns stand up comedy competition and went through to the state final on a wild card.
Clearly both students have honed form and confidence under the guidance of Loreto College Speech and Drama teacher Mika Wallace, to become a powerhouse of funny.
We wish Erin all the best for the National Grand Final!
