In trying conditions on the lake, Loreto College took out the J.H Netherway Cup (Girls Premiership Trophy) on Sunday 25 February in a brilliant display of teamwork, skill, leadership and spirit on Lake Wendouree for the Ballarat Associated Schools (BAS) Head of the Lake, 2018. Overall, the strongest performers on the day, Loreto College rowers and coaches stepped up to the podium many times to receive their crew medals.

After much hype in the lead up to the event, Loreto College went in as favorites to take out the Open Division 1 title as well as the overall girls aggregate. In very windy conditions our Open Division 1 crew came third to Ballarat Grammar and Damascus on the day, however, this minor challenge was overshadowed by the sheer delight of the entire Loreto Rowing Club and Loreto College community that turned out to cheer them all on!

The Loreto Spit Crew were the loudest and most enthusiastic on the edge of the water, from the early hours of the day, right through until the last award presentation.

Loreto College congratulates Ballarat Grammar for taking out the Girls Head of the Lake –  Open Division 1 and the overall boys aggregate trophy and St Patricks College for taking out the Boys Head of the Lake – Open Division 1.

As official host of the event for 2018, Loreto College thanks the many parents, families, staff, coaches, crews and officials who made this day a success.
