Dr. Michelle McIntosh, Scientist

After graduating from Loreto College in 1991, Michelle completed a Pharmacy degree from Monash University and then attained her Doctor of Philosophy in 1999. She worked and researched at the University of Kansas for several years before she returned to lecture at Monash in 2006.

One of Michelle’s most significant projects has been research into the aerosol delivery of oxytocin to women after childbirth. She received recognition of her work by way of a seed award at the Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development program where she featured in a speech by the powerful US Secretary of State, Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
